Shop Find: Onatoko

by Sasha Manuel on February 8th, 2006

onatokoSince we’re on the topic of Japanese Fashion, I want to share this online shop that I found.

Onatoko
is a 2 and a half year-old, Hong Kong-based company that offers Japanese tops, jackets and bottoms, even accessories like socks, legwarmers, headgears and scarves at a very reasonable price. They also carry make-up brands like Shiseido. They have pages dedicated to items on sale. And I also recommend that you look through the “Fun Junk”.

Onatoko is a private label and carry items from different designers. It basically is all about Japanese Street Fashion.

[…] I’m over the 50 blog mark! Hehehe. I’m just happy that I’m able to post more often now. My 50th post is not as special as I thought I’d make it. I completely lost it, you see. I forgot. Teehee. But it twas a good post nevertheless. I’ve got bragging rights since it’s my blog and this is my blog, too. Bleh. Crazy. […]

I have brought items from Onatoko and haven’t recieve them. Even worse I haven’t had one reply to my messages asking where they are. Nearly 2 months delay, and no explanation. This is very worrying, and if they don’t reply soon I will demand all my money back. If they still don’t reply I will get the authoroties on them since they are stealing. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever had.

I had the same thing happen to me. I ordered from Onatoko and did not receive my order and they do not reply to any of my messages. I don’t know what to do. If I don’t hear from them soon I guess I’ll just have to contact Paypal.

CC, Contact Paypal. I have contacted them about it, but they say they need multiple complaints before they do anything. So if you contact them they will have to do something.

Because I didn’t inform Paypal with 45 days of making the transaction, they say they can’t do anything for me unless there are multiple complaints. Please do this, so we both, and any others having the same problem can get our purchases or our money back. Anyone else having this problem and have paid via Paypal please do the same.

Also, when you contact Paypal could you send a message on this board to say you have? Just so I can inform Paypal that there is more than 1 person having trouble with the same thing. Thanks! And hope that this all gets resolved!

Anna, I have just opened up a dispute with Onatoko through Paypal. The next step is to open up a claim against them if they do not settle the matter. I have a feeling I will probably have to do that since they don’t seem to like to respond. I hope we both get our money back on this one. I’ll keep you updated on what’s going on. Best of luck to you.

CC, that’s good. I hope onatoko see us customers complaining against them, so will finally do something- at least make contact with us. I’m going to contact paypal now to inform them that since someone else other than me has the same problem, so hopefully they will open up my dispute.

hey ladies, i came across this site after i placed an order with them…i haven’t heard anything from them in 2 weeks and i’ve just opened a dispute with paypal. have you ladies heard anything back? were you able to get your money back?…

No, because I was over the 45 day limit so Paypal couldn’t file a dispute. So I contacted the Hong Kong police and informed them of the matter, and that I’m not the only one with the same problem. That’s all I can do, because no one else can help me.

But I’m never buying anything from an online shop in the east ever again. Lesson learned.

Hi, once I opened up the dispute Onatoko never responded. Eventually, I had to escalate it to a claim and then I did get my money refunded. I would escalate to a claim very soon because Onatoko will not respond. Good luck. They really should have their site shut down.

Hi, after I took the matter to the Hong Kong police they dealt with it in good time and I was refunded all my money. Onatoko insisted that they didn’t reply to my emails because I had 2 email addresses. But I gave them 1 email address so I don’t know what they’re talking about. I’m just glad I’m done with them.
