Tops 2 Bottoms

Japanese Uno Top

by Sasha Manuel on April 3rd, 2006

uno topI found this top really challenging. It’s not just the entire design, it’s the colour, purple. You see, I do try to explore but I’m not really adventurous in terms of colours, I tend to stick to my favourite ones. However, I can’t say no to a challenge. Hehehe.

I like the idea that it will provide an avenue for some fashion expression for an individual. It will require confidence in pulling this one off. Do you see the arm accessory that goes with the top? Ack. I haven’t tried wearing something like that before.

Hmmm. I reckon I have to have some funky bottoms to go along with it.

If I want to go casual,

  • a hipster pair of cargo pants and chunky boots or dress shoes, or
  • it can work with bleached or any flared jeans then thong sandals or flip flops.

If I want to go for a more dressy look,

  • I’d wear a wool mini-skirt with fun details to it like unusual pockets and add some accessories like a nylon or metal belt then wear a pair of tall boots.

I’m sure there are other ideas you guys can come up with. I’d enjoy hearing them if you want to share, so would the rest of the T2B readers.

I found it at ONATOKO. However, I’m not sure if it’s still available. You can go and take a look, though. Teeheehee.

    Hi Sasha,

This is cute, I might wear it with shorts and a paire of mules.

Also, can you consider doing a post on cool items for petite sizes…I am a zero-2 for skirts and trousers and a 4-6 for tops. I hate the petite offerings in departments stores. Designers still don’t get it!

Oh, Kim… I share your sentiments. I’m a size 6 myself and am having a hard time finding something that fits! I don’t look petite, though.

I’ll definitely look into the “size” aspect of fashion and write about it! Thanks! :)

Oh, purple! My most favorite color :) I do notice that purple is popping up in quite a few places. The color of royalty and just so rich looking…

I’m adding you to the list of people I know who favours this colour! ;) Teeheehee.

You’re right about purple being the colour of royalty. It’s quite noticeable how this colour is fast becoming popular, eh? :)
