Marc Jacobs Collection: Sleeveless Top

Marc’s silky top recalls a classic schoolgirl look with its hint of bookish charm. Long ribbons at the neckline tie into a bow, leaving the ends to trail down the front from the top panel of pleats to the tiered hem. Finished with an alluring low-cut back.
Almost everything that Marc Jacobs designs, I like. This one in particular is pretty interesting and unique. I like how it shows individuality of the garment. Really cool.
Aside from the obvious squared neckline, the sleeveles make, the panel of flat pleats with long overlapping ties, the flat ruffle at the waistline with a double-layer hem that falls over the hips, the things you should also know about it are not visible in the image. For example, the low back with ribbon band behind neck, the small covered elastic band at base of the back opening, the darting at either side of bust and the discreet snaps along left. Yes. I wasn’t kidding. Plus if you look at it closely, it has frayed edges, which gives it an unfinished look that I find really, really cool.
It’s not your average working top. It has haute couture written over RTW. Heh. It will take a certain type of fashionista to pull something like this off. Would you dare?
