  Love the poll. But where’s my read favorite: the constantly changing artsy mix of fibers and ribbons I’m so fond of adding to my cel phone so I can yank it out of tight spots (like the pocket in my purse or slacks).

  You mean everybody doesn’t do dorky stuff like that? :^) I swear - it’s tres’ decorative!

  About that phone accessory, uh, what do you call it again? I can add it as an option for the poll!

  And they do! They do! My bestfriend has one on her Motorola SLVR, not the ribbons, though, it’s a small chain with a silver letter of her first name at the end. It does look cool. :)

  Shannon I have no idea what you call it :^) It would probably be semi-accurate to call it a “phone cord.” Phone lasso doesn’t really fit. I guess mine works more like a phone leash!

  As an artsy person I just couldn’t manage to put up with that strap that came with the phone - so worked with some funky fibers and change them from time to time, adding or subtracting beads and ribbon etc. Voila; it’s offbeat but sure works for me! I’ll put a photo on the blog and add a link when it’s up.

  Hmmm… interesting idea to have seaweed attached to your phone. While you’re talking on your phone, it would look like a punk rock hair extension. For that matter, why not attach a wig to your phone? Not a full-blown clown wig or anything, just a fall or a fake ponytail, maybe a pink one to shake things up a bit. Imagine all the thumbs-up you’d get from the Gen-X-ers walking by the cafe as you dine outdoors, talking on the phone with your green cell phone extensions! My mom is an insanely crafty person and she has at least one mobile phone; when I think of all the wild seaweed-like fibers available to her at craft and fabric stores, I begin to smile. You know, I’m gonna let her know about this idea. She has arthritis in her hands from 50 years of doing insanely crafty things, so she need not fumble around looking for her phone ever again! The thought of my little white-haired mother toolin’ around town with a fuzz of fuschia, shiny, nubbly hairy stuff stuck to the side of her head just sends me! Utility has finally met fashion - and hilarity! THANKS!
