Style Guide: The Belt Drape
As promised, here’s my first style tip on how to use the fashion accessory, belt, to come up with certain looks.
The Belt Drape
By definition, it simply tells the wearer to “drape” the belt on the waist area.
How?
Loose enough that your hips keeps it from completely sliding down to the floor and tripping you as you walk. Heh.
When to use it?
Like seen on the photo, an example would be on skinny jeans. I recommend that the tops you’ll wear with it should be tight, not necessarily skimpy, just small enough not to take the attention away from the accessory. Or the top shouldn’t cover up the “drape effect”.
Why?
Several reasons, actually. One, to accentuate the hips, hence, somehow creates an illusion of a narrower waist — that’s reason number two. Three, to create some pizzaz on your outfit. Four, er, because it makes you look sexy? Heehee.
Try it out and let me know how it goes!
