Find Style Inspiration @ Market Night
I recently checked out a local bazaar dubbed as Market Night held last Monday, 20 August 2007 over at Mag:net Café, located in Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City (Philippines). The bazaar aimed to provide a venue for local fashion apparel and accessory designers to showcase their creations to the fashion masses.
I had initially thought it’ll just be a night of shopping or window-shopping but an idea formed in my head and it’s something quite natural in events like that one — finding style inspiration.
You’re surrounded by various fashion items, from tops to bottoms, bangles to bags, all in varied shapes and colours. It’s quite a treat to immerse yourself in concocting outfits in your head. All you need is an open mind and a keen eye. Of course, it’s best if you already know what you want, in terms of your personal style.
I’m quite certain that going to bazaars can mean giving in to the temptation to spend, to shop. But, perhaps, it’s a great exercise for self-control and at the same time, best way to refresh your, otherwise, fashion burnt and style-drained self. It’s a great place to find ideas for future buys or for possible styling experiment plans.
The Market Night event paved a way for me to get to know local fashion designers like Kaye Olfindo of kstyled and owner of local beauty brand, Leyende, Neva Kares. They’ve made it possible for me to get the know the local fashion and beauty industry better. Oh, I did end up with a miniskirt, one of Kaye’s creations, that night, courtesy of teh boyfriend (that sweet thing!). I guess, I’m what you can call, successfully style-inspired. Definitely. LOL.
I reckon that finding style inspiration is not limited to bazaars, though, it is a really good place to start. Inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere, all that’s important is you know what will get your stylish mind going.

Yea, they are interesting. Some, fabulous even! Was just caught up in shopping and meeting new people that’s why I wasn’t able to take photos of the rest. I totally missed the Nail art even. Sigh. :(

I wish there were more “markets” like this - so fun to discover new things that are not readily available in the mass market!

Teri: Yes, the idea that the items you’d get to discover on events like this one is that they’re not mass-produced and sometimes, when you’re lucky, you’d even get to come across one-of-a-kind items. :)
