Moving from Skinny to Wide — Pants, that is

by Sasha Manuel on August 22nd, 2007

I’m not saying you should get rid of all your skinny jeans, now, alright? I’m simply letting you know that it’s getting hotter and hotter, this particular piece of garment, the Wide Leg Pants. Do you remember when I started telling you about stocking up jeans and went ahead and window shopped at Topshop? Well, that was last month and now, it’s time for more choices.

Paper Denim & Cloth Jean

Not as impressive as my earlier Topshop denim choices but these will provide you with more ideas, I reckon. I believe Katie Holmes was spotted sporting a wide leg pant recently, so, giving it a go won’t hurt, yeah?

Suggestions:

  • Wear them with a peasant or Victorian-inspired blouse for a more textured look.
  • Tunics are a good choice, too, but limit it to the shirt variant.

Note: This style is leaning towards the casual and urban look.

I’m sooo over the skinny look- I can’t wait to buy some of these for fall. I love the second Free People ones- and I was actually just looking at that red jacket at Lord and Taylor the other day- SO cute! Thanks for the recommendations!

Good choice, Clementine. :) Personally, I’m still searching for the right pair. Hehe. BTW, Red is one other colour to look out for this Fall. ;)
