Different Panels of Print, Exotic Global Mix

When I was sharing my thoughts on big blocks of colour over at Style Manila, I came across this gorgeous creation of Doru Olowu, which somewhat plays with the same idea as the blocks only it makes use of printed fabrics. The style idea gives the look an exotic feel, seemingly like materials used to make clothes or aprons for Dutch maids or colorful African-style turbans, sashes and maxi dresses. Know what I mean?
Olowu has that sophisticated eye for mixing printed fabrics with seventies-style tailoring, creating this look that is categorised as global mix.
