Philippine Fashion Week 2008: New Generation Collection

Here’s a quick look on a few of my favourites from the New Generation Collection which showcased designs of young fashion designers such as Alodia Cecilia, Anna Lean Salvador, Ciege Cagalawan, Dax Bayani, Gerswin Qua, Gionna Cabrera, Gretchen Pichay, Lizanne Cua, Marc Rancy, Nikki Sonico, Patrick Galang and Prisara Morales during the 2008 Philippine Fashion Week.

These newcomers are talented. You can see that their influences vary from art-deco-esque colour blocks to romantic sheers and frills. Some are even reminiscent of regatta-type clothes (not the brand but the lifestyle). They’re dressing the modern woman. From conservatives to romantics. Bringing into light the conventional with a more contemporary touch. Though not necessarily revolutionary — save some —their creations indeed mark the new generation in Philippine fashion.
