I’ve already mentioned that Purple will be the season’s hot colour, yea? And I reckon also mentioned how gold will look great matched with it. Now, Mango presents another colour combo that will look smashingly fabulous. Purple and Green. I love how the usual bold purple hue looked tamed in contrast with green. I do love this shade of green.

This colour combo is very reminiscent of vintage Twiggy-esque style. There’s a subdued elegance to the whole look. That purple trench will be put to good use come Fall. I guess it’ll be worth every penny.

Now, this purple and green combo is a very interesting style option. I wonder if I can pull it off. I reckon I need to acquire some purple and green pieces in order to experiment. (Like I need any more reason to go shopping, eh? LOL)

Frill Neck Raw Edge Vest, Topshop

When I saw this Frill Neck Raw Edge Vest over at Topshop, I was reminded that I am looking for a top that has a unique neck detail like this one. It really doesn’t have to be frills and such, just something that makes the top look less of an everyday wear sort of thing. Did I make sense?

I like the idea that I own a couple or so of tops that will suit well for days I want to look dressy in jeans. And what’s cooler is that I can also wear them if I choose to pair them up with skirts or trousers.

It’s just sad that I haven’t found one that suits my taste. Most of the ones I’ve seen looked too couture-ish and very mature. I reckon I need to keep on looking.

Just browsing through some dress options. I sort of miss wearing dresses. I’m noticing that I’ve been wearing a lot of jeans lately and it’s all due to the rain. Pah.

There’s something about the dresses that have been catching my attention lately. It’s like they have this uncommon fabric combination. Mixing something really casual with a little more dressier material; in this case, it’s jersey and chiffon. Remember the Beramot Dress? That one used jersey and organza. Still trying to put a finger on it, why I’m singling these sort of dresses out. What do you guys think about them?

Leather Bow Detail Body Bag, Topshop

Accessories can be real fun, yea? I esp like it when I find a bag that actually spells out “fun” and this Leather Bow Detail Body Bag from Topshop does that exactly.

I know some are still hooked on the big bags but I’m suggesting a bit of a change. Personally, I do prefer using them totes, hobos and such simply because I bring a tonne of stuff with me — journal, notebook, book, huge wallet and not to mention my camera — but there are days when I like the convenience that a body bag offers. Apart from carrying less things than usual, hence, easy on the shoulder muscles; I like the fact that it’s easy to locate the stuff I may need at a particular moment.

Of course, a PLUS factor is the fact that it has adorable designs.

The idea of wearing maxi dresses at work may be a bit of a stretch so let’s trim it down a bit and go for ones that fall below the knee or ones that reach up to the mid-calf. It has the same dramatic effect, well, sort of. But I’m sure you get the picture.

Though this can take away the allure of mini-skirts or may not effectuate power as the usual lengths of power suits, it offers a subdued elegance and femininity that works wonders to your professional look. For you Western folk who will enjoy the Fall season, this will look great worn with them tall boots and you can even throw in a gorgeous scarf to keep you feeling toasty on them chillier days.

The length works well to hide layers you can wear to shield off the cold, i.e. leggings, tights, etc.

A dress that holds a lot of promise. It’s the Beramot Dress by Dallin Chase. It’s a jersey dress with a scoop neckline, elbow-length sleeves and a drop waist with a drawstring detail plus, not to mention, a pleated organza peek-a-boo hem. It’s amazing that if simple words were used to describe a piece, you really can’t see its quaint beauty.

I guess, the stylist in me can see how you can actually wear this adorable dress. There are a number of ways to bring out the uniqueness of the item. It’s quite novel to see organza and jersey used in just one item.

Then again, there are some who will disagree thinking that this is just an odd piece. However, it’ll take a bit of an out-of-the-box thinker to achieve a certain amount of difference. The risks of becoming individual will always be high. Oh, everyone is free to follow the norm and everyone is free to go against the norm. I just like people who are more imaginative in their personal style.
