The voice. The fluid dance moves. The personal style. The pixie. She photographs well to boot. No wonder I’ve been hearing a lot of my friends claiming to be real fans — of the music and the artist. I’ve heard her described as an exceptional performer.

“Rihanna goes far and away for her second Vogue cover shoot, photographed by Annie Leibovitz.”

Putting on “Take Care” by Drake which features Rihanna in the background as I set about to wrap up this post. The blend of images, music and having watched clips of her live performance recently is intoxicating.

I was never a fan but I do find Taylor Swift extremely pretty and she looks deliciously Red on the cover of Glamour. (P.S. You can also check out the cover shoot slideshow over at Glamour.)

With a new album, Red, in stores October 22nd, a huge tour expected in 2013, and a whole lot of tabloid attention surrounding her recent romance with Conor Kennedy, Taylor is entering a more grown-up phase of her already astonishing career.

You can take a peek at this beauty as she opens up about her career, her friends, and her own latest “love story” in the November issue.

Happy reading!

Keira Knightley on VOGUE October Ish Cover

VOGUE October Issue 2012, Keira Knightley | Tops II Bottoms

And isn’t Keira Knightley gorgeous? I esp like that arm piece; add contrast to a whimsical lace, impressing a more contemporary sense to an aged romantic edge.

Make sure to grab a copy of the VOGUE October issue, available on newsstands nationwide (US) beginning 24 September.

And a question posed, “are you ready for The New Normal?” pause and consider before the credits roll.

HP Celebrates Marchesa Spring 2012 Collection during NYFW

Once again, HP has captured my full attention when I saw the photo attachments on the email. They’ve managed to surpass the wow factor of one of their older projects which also was aimed at the fusion of fashion and technology — the HP Vivienne Tam Digital Clutch something that I had stumbled upon earlier that year prior attending that event.

This time, HP celebrated the Marchesa Spring 2012 Collection at the Dream Hotel last 13th of September, 2011 in New York City — during this year’s New York Fashion Week (NYFW). Wait till you see how this particular gadget looks rendered in “tech art” luxury. I almost fell off my chair when I saw it.

HP celebrated the fusion of fashion and technology with Marchesa during NYFW. At Marchesa’s Plaza Hotel show, HP captured the fashion house’s 2012 Spring collection with HP Live 3-D. The 3-D images were presented later that evening to special industry guests, including Emma Roberts, Camilla Belle and Rachel Zoe, at the Dream Downtown.

I know it’s been quite some time since you folks heard from me (close to a year, actually). But let me take this time to make up for lost time and share with you a couple of photos that simply took my breath away. Charlize Theron on VOGUE September 2009 Cover

VOGUE September 2009 Cover - Charlize Theron | Tops II Bottoms - Fashion, Shopping, Street Style

VOGUE Covers are what dreams are made of. Okay, perhaps my apparent regard to Anna Wintour’s taste may have caused an over-statement but, heck, most of the covers I’ve seen so far has been exquisite. I especially love the one with Drew Barrymore, which I think was on the April 2005 issue. She (and the over-all effect of the cover) looked utterly divine.

Going back to present, we have the opportunity to check out the latest — before it hits the stands.

Admittedly, one of the faces that I truly find appealing belongs to Charlize Theron. And it’s reportedly on the cover of VOGUE September 2009 issue. Stunning, I should say.

Anna says ’40s is the Look, RED is the Colour, and Boots & Suits are Back. How’s that for some Fall Fashion Fun? It’s time to prep up for the onslaught of the latest Fall trends. Surely, this is one issue to look out for.

Woodstock at 40: Fusion of Music and Fashion

Woodstock at 40: Fields of Fashion | Tops II Bottoms - Fashion, Shopping, Street Style

I still wasn’t part of this world, much less the fashion industry, around the time of Woodstock but I’ve been made aware through books I’ve read and films I’ve seen. And what had appealed to me most was the attitude folks had taken on in terms of fashion but was equally fascinated with the music, however dated they seem.

But twas the fashion that lingered. I had envied the freedom for their choices have reflected their spirit. Yes, individual personal styles had soul and was untainted — free of labels; loyal to the richness of designs. Eclectic, bohemian, raw and very much alive. So, when news of the “institution” celebrating its 40th year reached me, I just had to pause and highlight it in support and minuscule effort to celebrate the momentous event with them.

Ashley Olsen Bares for Marie Claire

Ashley Olsen - Marie Claire | Tops II Bottoms - Fashion, Shopping, Street Style
Ashley Olsen in Marie Claire

Pop fashion icon Ashley Olsen graces the cover of the Marie Claire September issue. And on the clip featured, we can see that she’s half-nekkid, which accompanies an interview in which she bares a little bit about herself and how she’s glad she didn’t turn out like Britney Spears. Ouch.

There’s something about this particular half of the Olsen twins that makes me smile. Well, actually, I can’t really tell them apart. I simply rely on the celebrity gossips reporting which lady is which. True, both ladies have their own respective flair in fashion, notable difference, not to mention the individual issues linked to their person. But I’d like to focus more on their personal styles and I mostly like what I’ve been seeing on Ashley. I particularly like how she embodies a fearless stylish person, that she’s entrepreneurial and an individual. On top of everything else she has going in her life, she also maintains a clothing line, The Row.

I reckon it’s good to keep an eye out for Marie Claire’s September issue, you agree?
